BMT Undertakes Upgrade - ‘Refit’ for a Queen

BMT Fleet Technology has been awarded the contract with BC Ferries for the upgrade of the Quadra Queen II. BMT will be hands on in the development of specifications and drawings for a major vessel refit. New shaft lines and propellers, addition of a bulbous bow, new ship service generators, and removal of asbestos are planned as part of the undertaking. The project will also include upgrades to the life saving equipment and accommodations. All work is to be completed by the end of this refit season.
The project team of engineers under the guidance of Paul Brennan will be seen at the DEAS dock frequently.
