Fatigue and Fracture Analysis of Marine Structures
Please note the February 20-22, 2013 course has been cancelled, and tentatively rescheduled for November 2013 at a different location (Washington D.C.) If you have already registered, we will contact you as soon as details regarding the new course have been finalized. Both BMT and ABS would like to apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience.
Objectives and Benefits
This course is intended to provide a review of the fatigue and fracture problems observed in ships and illustrate how these issues can be addressed from a procedural and regulatory perspective. An introduction to material characterization for in-service condition assessment with an explanation of the quantitative procedures for assessing fatigue and fracture performance is offered. The concepts discussed can be used at the design stage as well as in-service to select materials and size scantlings to make maintenance and inspection decisions and to assess life extension.
Attendees are encouraged to bring a laptop computer to participate in an interactive workshop for practical application of the concepts and procedures discussed.
