Municipal Engineering
Our Civil Engineering group is experienced in the provision of comprehensive services to a wide variety of clients. Some of the services include feasibility studies, land use planning, heavy civil construction, urban hydrology, site development, traffic engineering, and expert testimony. We have resources capable of meeting virtually any assignment with confidence and competence, as is illustrated by our ever expanding client base. Our established reputation for producing deliverables suited to the specific needs of our clients on time and on budget has held us in high regard in the industry.
As consultants offering municipal engineering services, we have been involved in the design of projects involving the upgrading of existing municipal infrastructure for municipalities that have to deal with aging and inefficient systems. One such project was a twelve-month study during which we monitored a sanitary sewer system at several locations throughout a major catchment in the City of St John's, NL. The objective of the study was to determine where there were major problems with ground water infiltration into the system and to determine measures to be taken to mitigate the problems. Another typical project was the upgrading and widening of a portion of a major city collector street while maintaining traffic flow with as little disruption as possible. We have also completed a number of projects which include municipal water supply and distribution systems, sewage collection and treatment systems, major and minor road networks and storm water systems.
Our offices provide engineering design services, procurement, contract administration and all related documentation for projects ranging in size from a small site development plan to a major multi-phased municipal or industrial infrastructure construction program, from the initial concept to commissioning. We typically direct a project through Federal, Provincial and Municipal approval processes involving as many as ten different governmental agencies. We provide project management, supervision, inspection and administration to ensure the client’s interests are protected and all regulations and conditions of approval are met.
