Marine Engineering
BMT has experience in design, construction, installation, operation and support of the systems and equipment which propel and control marine vessels, and of the systems which make a vessel or structure habitable for crew, passengers and cargo. BMT's extensiveexpertise in Marine Engineering can provide independent consultation and management services for ship acquisition, operational support, structural analysis, repair & maintenance, evacuation, risk, and safety management.
Our support services see vessels through concept design, detailed design drafting, materials & welding specification development, construction supervision and performance trials. When Class or owners require documentation and proof of performance, BMT provides the analysis of ship systems through Failure Mode Effect Analysis and trial plan development, coordination and execution. BMT is fully equipped and experienced to provide instrumentation, gather data and report on issues including standard IMO manoeuvring trials, noise & vibration, sea keeping, engine emissions and structural response.
